Introduction of the Founder

Mr. Jaime Lopes Ferro founded the company in 1953, not as a businessman, but as a true engineer. A relentless pursuer of technological advancement, Mr. Ferro devoted his life to inventing numerous patents. He proposed many innovative concepts and ideas, and despite the fact that not all of his creative visions were transformed into products, he remained steadfast in his pursuits. His areas of research were exceptionally broad, ranging from air conditioning and refrigeration to natural gas, and even extending to tidal power generation, which was not widely recognized at the time, as well as explorations into railway transportation. It can be said that Mr. Jaime Lopes Ferro dedicated his entire life to the pursuit of scientific advancement and technological progress.

Mr. Jaime Lopes Ferro was also a steadfast advocate for product quality. He continually researched technological advancements to enhance product performance and reliability, never compromising even when it led to increased costs, and never prioritizing profits over quality and technology. “Technology for a Better World” was the unwavering belief and pursuit of Mr. Jaime Lopes Ferro.

Mr. Jaime Lopes Ferro was a diligent individual, constantly thinking and seemingly always in a state of work, which continued even at the age of 96. The technologies and products invented by Mr. Jaime Lopes Ferro are a continuation of his legacy and life’s work.

In terms of human resources, Mr. Jaime Lopes Ferro’s management philosophy was far ahead of his time, commanding profound respect from his employees. He maintained a harmonious and equal relationship with his employees, more akin to friends and family rather than employer and employee. He placed great emphasis on the health and welfare of his employees, extending equal benefits to their family members as well. For instance, in the early 1960s, the Company established a health management department staffed by a doctor and multiple nurses, which was quite rare at the time.

1953

Founded in 1953, Frimec is headquartered in Portugal, initially specializing in the production of controllers, valves, measuring devices, and pressure regulators for the petroleum industry.

1955

Compressor components production and processing workshop

The first air conditioning product rolled off the production line at the Portuguese factory, marking Frimec’s official entry into the air conditioning sector.

During the 1980s, Frimec embraced a new era of innovation, implementing new process technologies to improve the quality of its production.

2008

With technology as a bridge, Frimec has advanced global localized manufacturing and achieved global distribution, with markets spanning across European countries such as Portugal, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, and Turkey. In 2008, Frimec entered the Asian market with the operational launch of its factory in Malaysia.

2010

Frimec was authorized to manufacture products for Middle East Associates, the official distributor for Mitsubishi in the Middle East market. Frimec consistently adheres to advanced technology to adapt to the rapidly changing international market, thus retaining its competitive edge.

2014

FRIMEC's Malaysian factory obtained the MS ISO9001: 2008 Quality Management System certification from TUV NORD.

2015

Frimec took a pivotal step in its globalization, becoming an original equipment manufacturer for a renowned American brand, with products being sold in Asia, the Middle East, the Americas, Europe, and Africa.

2019

Frimec formally entered the Chinese market, partnering with strategic Chinese collaborators to invest in and establish a factory in Zhenjiang, China. Continuing to leverage advanced technology and high-quality products, Frimec aims to build an international brand in the HVAC industry and further promote its global expansion.
